I liked it. It's a cute story about a soldier that is adviced to get married if he wants to advance any further. This guy is some type hardcore soldier that wants to beat his father's expectations. Unfortunately, we do see his life (including his one night stand after coming back to deployment) but not much details give and it was before he met heroine. Heroine herself had rough time after her parents divorced so she doesn't have that much expectations about relationships. So when she reads hero's practical proposal she replies same practical way and the love story takes off from there. Keep in mind hero is deployed and active duty so their relationship works around this, pretty interesting reading those parts, and realize along the way that they maybe have an actual love match. Part series but romance standalone. Not clean read.Product details

Colton needs a promotion to Captain but in order to get that he needs a wife. One well placed ad leads him to Karena. Karena is disillioned by love after her parents nasty divorce. She has nothing to lose when she answers an ad to be a military wife for the sake of a soldiers career. But when Colton and Karena meet in person wow do the sparks fly! Will living in a fake marriage really work for them or will they actually fall in love? Great story!
Unfortunately I read the Army Wives Collection first before noticing this book which is a prequel to the series. Although each story is a standalone novel, it is nice to be able to read the books in order to obtain the full flavor of the series. Books are well written and highly entertaining. Both of these authors were unknowns to me, but upon starting this books found I was enjoying my read right from the onset. They are the kind of story you want to re-read almost immediately to make sure you haven't missed anything.
Two people, each not looking for a relationship it's not even on their radar. Colton wants a promotion that's coming up but what does his boss tell him, he needs to marry to have a better chance at getting it. Karena works her butt off and she still struggling to make it. Never one to want to find that Happy Ever After but when she is feeling down a Ad catches her attention. Who would have thought that by Karena answering Colton post that would lead them into a future they never thought they wanted. Grab the popcorn and enjoy the ride.
For a short book it felt longer. We get background on Karena and some on Colton and it made them more real. Karena has come through so much in her short life and is being challenged when she happens upon Colton's online dating profile. Seems you find what you need when you're not looking. Colton is honest to a fault, isn't that the best way to start a relationship. Read on for a tear or two and more smiles.
Loved this story, kinda partial to military 😀! Karina having struggles in her life, financially, personal, things from her past, no expectations of meeting your dream man and having a fairytale ending! Then there is Colton who is following in his Dad's footsteps, next up promotion would be to Captain, finds out he isn't in the running cause he isn't married, nor has a family😉, wow! So after much debating, his moms pushing, doesn't want her setting him up, or bar hook ups, he tried online dating, a chance applying for jobs, Karina sees his ad! What an amazing story, who wouldn't want to see where this might go! ❤️❤️A must read!

This was an interesting book I'm not going to give you any more information about it cuz I want you to read it and I really want you it's about personal Discovery Redemption love something I want I highly recommend this book because the story was great it had lots of sad parts lots of good parts lots of steamy Parts but it was a good good story told by an excellent storyteller. I highly recommend this book this will be a book that you sit down and read and when it's over you go to have that was good
Really terrible. Author throws a few commas into (almost) every sentence. She also - I don't know the term for this - incessantly uses the tactic of saying something, then adding a descriptive phrase for what she just said i.e. "I stumbled, over a, pair of shoes but, I sheepishly, caught myself. I felt sillier than a, banana peel in the garbage." <-- note excess commas as well as annoying follow-up description.
Author - I applaud the work you put into creating this and encourage you to keep at it. You do need to get a good editor who will force you to write cleaner, simpler sentences; learn when commas are / are not appropriate; and help you find a more natural, less labored style of writing. It was a free copy, but I could not make it past the 4th page...these things I've written are too much to wade through.
